Engaged

The Engagement Story:

The date was February 12th 2011. Mike wasn't going to be in town for Valentine's day so we celebrated a few days early. Mike and I went to enjoy an afternoon at the Dahli Museum on the water in St. Pete. We've both been wanting to go and we had a great time browsing all of the amazing artwork and we decided to look out the window on the second story landing when we saw a bride in her gown taking photos in the garden. ( I just think that's a cute fun fact) She was beautiful by the way! After we left the museum Mike and I got ready for dinner.....we had reservations at The Fox at 7. The Fox is a little gem of a restaurant. Mike and I had a table right off the dance floor so we had front row seats to the live Jazz band. The music was great and the food was Fantastic!!!!!!! We got home a little after nine and were just getting out of our shoes when Mike grabbed my hand as I was passing him. He was already on his knee because he was taking his shoes off. He looked up at me and asked me to marry him. At first I thought I heard him wrong and then I just thought he was joking, seriously, I didn't believe him. Then I saw a little red box in his hand and the smile on my face could NOT have been bigger, but i still didn't believe it until he opened the box and I saw the BEAUTIFUL ring inside it! Of course I said yes, while jumping up and down and still trying to grasp everything that was going on!!!!! I didn't cry, but I did tear up when it finally hit me what just happened. Apparently my sister and Dad already knew. Mike, knowing how much it meant to me......Called my dad a few weeks earlier when I boarded the plane to visit my family in Indiana, and asked for my hand. Obviously, Daddy gave his blessing and here we are! What a lucky girl I am!
